Default Need Advice for upcoming Eye of the North Reputation Weekend

Eye of the North Reputation Weekend is coming up and I would like to ask for some advice on how best to use it.

I can only play on Friday from noon on and Saturday so with only a day and a half I want to make the most of the 2x rep bonus.

I've finished Eye of the North in normal mode so Asura, Norn and Dwarf reputations are at tier 3.

Vanguard is maxed from snowball fights during Wintersday.

So do I...

1. Run Secret Lair of the Snowmen as much as possible to get 2x dwarf rep. Or is this quick enough already so I shouldn't waste a bonus weekend on it?

2. Run primary quests in Hard Mode for the first time to get double quest xp. Can they all be done in 1.5 days?

3. Do #2 but for Dungeons. Can still do them for first time in NM and HM.

4. Vanquish Norn or Asura zones.

I think I should get to tier 8 before the weekend with books or vanquishing so the 2x rep will only be used when the reps get harder to raise.

Or is using story books such a good way to raise reps that I shouldn't worry about the 2x rep weekend?

Thanks in advance.

books are always a great way to get points. if you also plan to get legendary master of the north then this is a good time to do all the vanqs. norn is one of the harder points to get (after vang) and doing Varajar Fells with The Path to Revelations quest is a great idea to get 10-20k rep per vanq (20-40k in 2x rep weekends)

I wouldn't bother with dwarf rep as you'll get lot from nm+hm dungeons from lmotn and ay extra is easily gotten from snowmens lair.

I'd just go and do Varajar Fells for Norn and Magus Stones for Asura. Should find groups fairly easily, and both give plenty of rep as stated. Farming them both up to ~120-130k should mean that when you do hm missions/dungeons/vanqs for LMotN they should max fairly easily. (You can work out the exact figures from wiki). Should be easily doable.

I wouldn't bother farming, just do something you need anyway for LMotN, better if you have the zaishens for them (double reputation is also applied to those rewards, while it isn't to books). Of course doing the missions is faster so you can manage to do them all or most, consider if for you the reward per time si better that way or with vanquishes.

For Norn I hope you still have the quest from Kersh active, this vanquish can get you enormous amounts of norn points when you time the boss bounty right.

For Asura you could take a look at the shards of orr with heroes on this board made by Genius. You can do dwarf and asura at the same time.

I would say that it depends upon what PvE skills you routinely use. If, for example, you tend to use Technobabble or Pain Inverter a lot, then it's useful to build up your Asuran title to make them more effective.
I would agree that Dwarven points may be the least useful as you tend to max them quite easily just doing dungeons (and books).

Of, course, it depends somewhat upon what your goals are. If you are just trying to max the titles, it may be best to do quests, missions and vanquishes in the areas you least like to do them so that you need to do less of them.

You can nearly get them done in 1.5 hours. Many of them should take no more than around 10-15 minutes, with some taking less than five, using shortcuts. The longest shouldn't take more than around half an hour.

Vanquishing is your best bet for working on rep, but it would be a good idea to take the opportunity to fill a HM Hero's Handbook. At the very least, do the shortest ones: Curse of the Nornbear, Blood Washes Blood, Against the Charr, G.O.L.E.M., and A Time for Heroes. Finding the Bloodstone is also fairly fast.

Thank you all for such good insights. You each make very good points. I'm sure others will find this useful as well.

The plan is to get Legendary Master of the North, I need it for GWAMM since I don't want to do an expensive consumption title.

So for Dwarfs it seems like they should be worked on last, since many other things will add to them indirectly. Such as nm/hm dungeons and hm quests as well as any books I may do to raise Asura and Norn to tier 8 before the weekend.

The next easiest would be Norn. I have The Path to Revelations quest saved so the Varajar Fells vanq will be a great idea to load up on during a 2x weekend. I didn't know it could get as high as 20k per clear.

So it seems the Asura have the least help. No special quest or dungeon to make it easier, just a good zone to vanquish.

I hadn't thought of storing 3 of each type of upcoming Zaishen quests that give the right rep for the 2x weekend, great idea.

I use Pain Inverter quite a bit so yes, I was hoping to raise Asura first.

If doing a HM book can be done that quick I'll definitely wait until the weekend to do one the first time. Still new so I may take a bit longer than 1.5 hours but I have a good team that should make it.

The team I run is mostly made up of builds from the following 2 pvx pages:

Panic Mesmer and SoS Ritualist from http://www.gwpvx.com/Build:Team_-_7_Hero_Discordway

3 Discord Necros and 2 Monks from http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/User:Hiervolant

So the plan seems to be...

1. Do but don't turn in 3 of each type of Zaishen quests that will give good rep.
2. Raise Asura then Norn to tier 8 before weekend.
3. Do 18 nm Dungeons to get the feel for them so I can make sure I can do them quickly on the weekend in hm.

4. When the weekend starts turn in all saved quests.
5. Do a full hm book.
6. Vanquish Asura zones ending with Magus Stones until maxed with Asura.
7. Vanquish Norn zones ending with Varajar Fells with The Path to Revelations quest until maxed.
8. Do 18 hm Dungeons, or as many as I can, then Snowmen to finish Dwarfs.
9. Vanquish remaining zones. Legendary Master of the North should be done.
10 Rest.

Since the OP has already maxed Vanguard, this would be a waste of double-points time that could be put to better use in areas that give points towards other reps.
